Friday, Let’s Go!

Remember Friday evening at CF782 we will have athletes throwing down for Open Workout 20.2.

Come drop by to see those athletes in action.

Use the link above to get registered for an open slot if you want to complete the workout with a judge!

Athletics - 6/12/430/530

Skill & Strength Build Up

4 Sets to Practice Movements and Build up in Weight

5 Strict Pullups or Kipping Practice

5 Back Squats

Use this time to practice your movements for the workout. If you are planning on doing ring rows in the workout practice your strict pullups now and build that strength. If you are planning on doing ring MU’s use the first couple of sets to do some strict pullups and then build up that kipping work for your pullups and then on the rings. Build in weight for what you plan on using in the workout.

Grab a partner and get ready to work on the second part. Use the warmup to focus on really solid movement patterns for both parts of the strength and skill.

Interval Training Conditioning

‘Jack & Jill’

20 minute AMRAP

Alternate Rounds with a Partner

10 C2B/Pullups or Ring Rows

10 Back Squats (185/125) (155/105) (115/75)

200m Run

Something a little skillful here. Something a little strong(wo)man oriented. And then some grunt work. Go hard enough to maintain consistent reps and sets with each movement. Cheer on your partner and push one another to move with quality and pace.

Hello Thursday.

Hope to see you all in the gym here at some point.

For today I want to talk about the attitude part of our hashtag #attitudegratitudefortitude.

We wanted to grate a slogan/saying/hashtag to help us describe our community for those who may be on the outside looking in and for our members to have something to describe their experience at 782. We all know attitude does not mean being happy all the time or just saying positive cliches to fake your way through life. Attitude means that through the setback, the tough times, the grind that life can throw at us sometimes we remain steadfast and continue to move forward despite any obstacles that may be in the way. There is a good book out there called ‘The Obstacle is the Way’. We are determined in our attitude to bring our best into the gym and into life. We support, encourage, and grow with those around us so when they feel down we may lift them up so that on days we feel down they may do the same for us. We stand up for one another and we hold one another to an exceptionally high standard built on mutual respect amongst our 782. Attitude is our way of saying we find bliss in the days of celebration, but we also encourage challenges to help us grow and become the best version of ourselves.

Hope you enjoyed my bit of a rant on this chilly, windy October day!

Hello and good day.

Reminder that Rob & I are throwing down Friday evening for Open WOD 20.2.

As well Greg will be throwing down with Anikha and Mike and I will have my good friend visiting from England there to get involved in the festivities as well!

Classes will be on as usual Friday, 6/9/12/430/530 with judged open heats from 630 to 8pm that evening. Open gym is for teens from 330 to 430 as well.

On Saturday we have class at 8/10/11 with CrossFit 101 at 9am and then Judged Open heats from 12 until 2. Sunday class on at 10 as well.

This is all for CrossFit 782.

782 Athletics we have class at 6/12/430/530 on Friday and then class at 10 on Saturday. All members of 782 are welcome to both locations!

Remember to get your gear ordered soon. We will be putting in an order for toques and sweats and crews shortly. We have about 20 people with orders in and will not be ordering a ton of extra in our supply.

We want to build strength & power under fatigue with this workout. Scale your pullups as need be, but they should be unbroken for the first few sets.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Open week #1 was also a huge success. We had a ton of people come out to throwdown and a ton of spectators on hand to watch our athletes and cheer them on as they moved through the pain cave of G2OH and burpees over the bar.

Next week we will be featuring some head to head match ups on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. Rob Lantz and I will be throwing down on Friday evening in one of the first marquee matchups of the 2020 open season. There will be more match up pairings announced later in the week.

I will also be having one of my good friends from England here to visit for the weekend. Paul and I met in Korea and trained together for a number of years. He will be here from Thursday evening until Sunday evening and will be at the gym plenty training and getting to know everyone at 782. We will also be out on the town Friday and Saturday evening and hope you will be able to join us!

Our PrimeTimers class will be on tomorrow at 10am!
